Meet guest of episode 049, Brandy Hays Morrison:
Brandy Hays Morrison is the Vice President of Strategic Growth for Pluribus Digital, a technology firm based in the Washington, DC area. She leads business development efforts in the federal government contracting space. Her professional background includes engineering and management consulting positions at HP, IBM, and Accenture – before transitioning to the world of small business. Her clients have spanned multiple countries (US, Sweden, Bulgaria, etc. ), and multiple federal agencies (FDIC, DHS, and HHS). She is also co-founder of the Digital Services Coalition.
She has two degrees from Rice – earning her undergraduate degree in 2000, double majoring in computer engineering and managerial studies and earning her MBA in 2005 from the Jones Graduate School of Business. Brandy was one of the first students to enroll in Rice through the Posse Foundation – a leadership-based scholarship out of New York City.
While at Rice, Morrison was president of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), student manager for women’s basketball, and founder of the Black Business Student Association (BBSA). Since, she has served on the Board of Directors for multiple entities, including Association of Rice University Black Alumni (ARUBA), the Rice Engineering Alumni (REA), the Association of Rice Alumni (ARA) (2010-2014), and the Posse Foundation – a non-profit whose mission is to bring more diversity and leadership to college campuses.
